The short answer
Crown Auctions runs its auctions online, so collectors in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and everywhere else in Australia bid on the same lots at the same time. Register once and bid from anywhere.
There is no saleroom to travel to. Each lot has detailed photographs and a condition description, and questions can be sent before bidding opens.
The main difference between cities is the clock. Lots close at a set time, so check the closing time against your own time zone.

Bidding from interstate
A few habits make distance irrelevant.
- I Register early. Set up your account before the auction so you are ready when a lot opens.
- II Convert the closing time. Use the table above, especially in Perth, Darwin and Brisbane during daylight saving.
- III Leave a maximum bid. If a lot closes outside your day, a maximum bid keeps you in the auction.
- IV Ask your questions first. Send condition or delivery questions through the contact form before you bid.
- V Plan for delivery. Confirm delivery options to your address before bidding, especially outside capital cities.
