About Blancpain

Blancpain is a watch house founded in 1735 and based in Le Brassus, Switzerland, best known for Fifty Fathoms and Villeret. Crown Auctions offers pre-owned Blancpain pieces in its Australian online auctions. Each lot is inspected by specialists and listed with photographs and condition notes.

Jehan-Jacques Blancpain established his workshop in Villeret in 1735. The house has built only mechanical watches throughout its history.

In 1953 it introduced the Fifty Fathoms, developed for French naval combat divers, which set the template for the modern dive watch.
